2004 Silverado
|
This Chevy Silverado came to us in serious need of sound! Completely stock (pic 1) we started tearing into the truck like there was no tomorrow, little did we know a month later would emerge a blue and white masterpiece. Starting up front we installed a Kenwood KVT-512 going directly into a Kicker KQ5 which boosted the incoming signals up to 8 Volts. Wiring was ran all the way back to the amplifier rack in the bed and routed to each amplifier respectively. A JL Audio 450/4v2 handles the front and rear speakers delivering 150 Watts to the front and 75 Watts to the rears. Each door panel was removed and a custom panel built to hold the JL XR525-Csi component sets, two in the front, one in the rear. All the panels as well as a portion of the factory panel were covered in blue suede. |

The W6's were mounted in a 13 cubic foot ported enclosure finished in mirror Plexiglas and white carbon fiber vinyl which is 'blown-through' into the back of the cab. In order to do this we cut a rather large hole in the front of the bed and back of the cab and sealed it with a rubber boot. Once the box was slid in the trim could be done. Not ones to spare on the flash we put two 1" Plexiglas windows in the top of the enclosure to view the inside as well as the sub-woofers and lit it all up with blue varad LEDs. Power for the sub-woofers is delivered via two JL Audio 1000/1v2 amplifiers rated at 1000 Watts each!! |

Just to make sure the amplifiers get the backup they need, two Kinetik HC2000's were installed. One taking the place of the factory battery and the other as close to the amplifiers as possible. An H.O. Alternator was also put under the hood to charge the batteries for extended play time. Trim panels were built to flush-in the enclosure and amp rack/battery rack as well as a piece for the tailgate with some white vinyl accent panels and Plexiglas name plate. |
